What is a Chamber of Commerce?
Prosperity of business is closely related to the development of a prospering, healthy and happy community. Business truly is a ''contact sport.''
Basically, the local chamber of commerce is the business community at work as the central organization of the community development of business, industry and the professions, in addition to all the civic interests performing tasks that no individual can do alone. We provide a variety of services that benefit all citizens and all business, regardless of size.
The Chamber is not affiliated with any city government, however, it does identify issues that affect the business community and keeps it's membership informed.
Leadership is key. The Board of Directors and its Officers are elected by the membership and work together to determine the Chamber's goals. Member volunteers organize and lead committees to accomplish those goals through programs and events.
